Hi

Several months ago I installed windows 7 on my computer. Use to have windows xp but knew it was time to change. I was told windows 8 wouldn't work but now I think I could have installed windows 8. I want to install windows 8 but want to know what's going on first. Anyhow the computer seemed to work ok until I few weeks ago. It is now slow when opening a website. Cursor seems to hang or freeze then begins to work. And sometimes I get these dialog boxes that say Internet explorer has stop working windows is checking for a solution to the problem then another dialog box comes up saying internet explorer has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Then when I click close program. A message appears near task bar at the bottom that says a problem with this web page caused IE to close and reopen the tab. I have ran anti virus and super anti spyware and nothing found. When I ran malwarebytes it almost did complete scan but when it got to heuristic analysis I got a blue screen and before I could read it computer restarted and booted back up. It has done this a couple of times. Then on last malwarebytes scan it was ok. Not sure what's going on. I think I have upgraded as much as I can and don't think computer should be this slow. Besides since installing wins 7 I haven't really downloaded much on here for it to be so slow. Can you please help. I ran a fabar scan and results are here.

Hi and sorry for the delay. I've reviewed your logs and they are clean. I'll move this topic to the Windows 7 forum where the experts there can assist you further. You may have some disk issues or other hardware/driver issues but the tech guys there would be best to serve you.

Take care.

I posted this in malware forum but Brian says all okay. So don't know where to start to find out what is causing this problem. Like I mentioned in my post all seemed okay after installing windows7 but in last couple of weeks laptop is slowing down and then when I tried running malwarebytes before it finished I got this blue screen and before I could read what it said, computer rebooted. But have had blue screen come up a couple of times before that but computer always reboots before I have time to read what it says and everything seems to be okay after reboot but am wondering why this is happening. Am I missing a file or is there a corrupt file somewhere, just not sure what to do. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I also wanted to install windows 8 before I installed windows 7.  But was told I had to install 7 first. I really would like to install windows 8 but want to get the bugs out of this before I would. Also to I have upgraded the ram and installed new and bigger hard drive. And at times computer seems to run hot to me but then again this might just be me worrying about nothing. Thanks for any help. Patty

Hello Pat_54,

I would like to apologize for the delayed response on your issue!

The log you posted indicates that you have two (2) separate anti-virus softwares installed and enabled on your machine (Avast and SuperAntiSpyware).  Having multiple AV may sound like a good thing, but in fact it can cause all sorts of issues (including BSODs).  I would like for you to uninstall/disable 1 of the 2 programs and let us know if your problem persists.

For now, if you could uninstall/remove AntiSuperSpyware, I think that will be a good start in this troubleshooting.  :whistling:
If you need any help, please just ask!

NOTE - If/When you upgrade to Windows 8, I would advise only using the Windows Defender program instead of Avast or anything else.  Click here for more information on Windows 8 AV programs.
