To do this you will need lowlevel formatter for your harddrive,
windows OS cd,bootup floppy disk

HOW TO LOWLEVEL FORMAT HARDDRIVE
1) download lowlevel formatter to 31/2 floppy for your hard drive brand.
2) shut down system
3) insert lowlevel floppy and boot system
4) lower format program will start
5) follow on screen instructions to lowlevel format drive c:
6) shut down system
7) insert bootup disk in floppy start with cdrom support.
8) at a:/ tpye fdisk
9) when done at a:/ type format c:
10) shut down system
11) with floppy in drive reboot with cdrom support
12) put OS cd in cdrom drive
13) at a:/ type setup
14) windows should start to install

Note: windows xp will ask if you want to change to ntfs format I would do this.

Hi
fdisk is a fix disk utility that you need to run after lowlevel formatting. when you lowlevel format it removes everything off your harddrive makes it like a new one.
the lowlevel formatter that your downloading is a zip file so you have to download it the unzip it to a floppy for it to work. After I do this I just use a windows 98 bootdisk its only one disk when you install windows Xp it going to ask you if you want to change the format to ntfs and I would do this.

Hi
In a earler post you posted (I think my harddrive is Fuji, i am not too sure) we need to make sure that it is. I don't like the fuji formatter.
look in your hardware device manager it should tell you what your hard drives are.

Hi
from what I can see the fuji program is not a bootable disk I'm looking into how you use there low-level formater for there hard drive. If you put the floopy in after you boot into windows can you look at the disk in your windows explorer and tell me what file names are on it.

Hi
what your going to need to do is boot up in dos mode then at the a:/ type fjerase.exe then hit enter that should start the lowlevel formatter then you will need to do fdisk then format your harddrive.
