Hello

I have a windows recovery media USB that I purchased at the same time as my lenovo flex laptop.
I am locked out of windows 8 as I cannot remember my admin password and I am a single user.

My problem is, when I try to access the command prompt screen from the windows sign in screen, by clicking on the wheelchair icon, whereas, normally, I would then select "advanced" from the "ease of access" menu, the "advanced" option has disappeared from the "ease of access" menu.

I am not tech savvy and panicked as i originally thought I was locked out properly, but didn't realise I could use my recovery media stick. I am not trying to bypass my lost password, I just didn't have the sense to realise I could change the admi. Password this way.
I managed to change my online live.com password using my smartfone but the admin one still needs changing.
Please can anyone tell me why the advanced option is missing from my "ease of access" menu. Thanks.

Hello dandelioner,

I apologize for the delay in receiving a response.  Sadly, I am not proficient in Windows 8.  Here is something to try, however:

On the login screen, press the Power button in the lower, right corner of the screen and press Shift as you select Restart.

Good luck!
