Windows 7, 64 bi,t 3GB ram. Videos are stuttering. This happened once before, seemingly after Windows update. I rolled back and it was fixed. This time, that did not work. I haven't changed or installed anything except for a ton of recent Windows updates. Flash is updated, hardware acceleration is unchecked, internet is Cox high speed. I ran CCleaner, Malwarebytes, and antivirus and everything seems clean. Can anyone help? Thanks.

jones082,
Since did not state were this is happening i am assuming online (youtube), because of stating update to flash player. Where was hardware acceleration disabled, flash player or browser ? First option i would try make sure have most recent updated video card drivers installed, if not do so.

Ideally updates should not be turned off as most updates are for your security on line or otherwise.
We do also need to know if you have problems with video played from your own hard drive or from a DVD disk. If they are OK and no stuttering, there leaves two other possibilities, either players, or internet speeds which just may be being capped by your ISP.
Incidentally, Youtube no longer requires Flash Player providing your browser can handle the HTML5 protocol. Which leads me next to ask what browser are you using, Internet Explorer or some other one?

Thanks for the replies.
My video drivers are current.
Hardware acceleration was enabled and then disabled by right clicking on a flash video. No difference there.
DVDs and videos from my hard drive play fine.
The problem is the worst on Groove 3 instructional videos. HTML and Flash viewing both produce the same problem. Chrome and IE produce the same problem.
Internet is high speed Cox cable, which I've been using for years without a problem, and nothing has changed.
On advice from another forum (which I am no longer participating in), I ran ComboFix, defragged my drive, ran Malwarebytes and CCleaner.

I just noticed something else-When I monitor task manager, everything I do seems to use an inordinate amount of CPU usage. For example, opening a browser jumps it to almost 100%. Groove 3 videos jump it all the way to 100% and stays there. It never did that before. On my wife's computer, which is the same computing power and RAM, CPU usage for Groove 3 runs around 25%.

chrome tends to be notorious for high resource useage. Groove i am not familiar with, how does Windows media player handle say mp4, mpeg, wmv and avi. ? Check your startup items possible some other process is doing this or something attached to browser, extension, plug-in. Try disabling all extensions and plug-ins in browser and then try videos online. You will need Adobe Flash in certain situations online, update for it today i received.
What was outcome of combofix, malewarebytes ? Never rule out a virus, maybe first need to make malware team here check your system as they are very good here. Tend now not to feel it is video card failure in anyway if it played fine in other files, only conflict or incompatibility to say the least.

As jds63 mentioned, I strongly suggest that you get the G2G malware guys to have a look, such a high CPU use when you open a browser may well be some malware calling home.

I uninstalled and re-installed MSE and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the suggestions. If the issue returns, I will look deeper for malware.

Usually cause error messages, freezes, if it was MSE. Keep us posted.

Ok, went through Malware forum, computer seems clean, problem still persists.
Any video and sound (Windows system sounds, Mp3s, video, Youtube, online instructional video, MSN entertainment video) has clicks, and almost like a static sound. Makes everything unlistenable. It happens on both sets of external speakers (Realtek driver, stock computer speakers, Focusrite driver, audio interface, JBL bookshelf speakers) and headphones.
All drivers are updated.
Anybody have a solution?
Thanks.

O.k. first was just stuttering video, now also saying clicks and static in sound. This becomes 2 things, video and audio, Sound card and video card and or it's drivers. Either a conflict with drivers for either, settings within each video card and sound card in there respective control panels or check sounds in control panel. Said all the drivers are up to date, meaning sound card and video card ? All info we have on this system is that you have Windows 7 64bit 3GB RAM.Need more specs, can give them or the make and model of the system.

Few differences in last digits of this model number. Mostly seems as you have a integrated sound card on motherboard, possibly Realtek. Have tried checking for upgraded drivers from PC manufacturer or realtek if this is type of sound device drivers. Also Updating Graphics card drivers which i believe to be NVIDIA.
These kind of conflicts with sound are common, could be setting in Sound in control panel or control panel of Sound card or conflicting background processes, usually secondary programs or services.
Look here to first for some other suggestions http://windows.micro...blems=windows-7
Go to the Device manager under Sound, Video and Game controllers tell me what Audio device it shows there. In sound properties in Control panel, sound tab make sure correct Device is default, highlight it and click properties, try unselect enhancements see if it helps.Device manager when found sound device can uninstall it from there by right clicking, reboot machine will reinstall drivers again, may or may not help, can try this too. Run through Microsoft link probably tell you similar ways.
