I have a  Gateway  XP  Windows Media Center 2005 that was giving me a lot of trouble.
I decided use the Gateway Recovery DVD.
I used the disc I had made about 10 years ago. It went thru it's thing and ask for
the Recovery disk #1. I did not have a #1 disk but had a disc named Gateway XP Drivers
and Applications. I put it in and the computer use it and ask for disk #2. I had another
disk called Gateway boot files. The computer did not want that one and that is all I have.
The computer is
now stuck in the asking for the disk #2. It appears to me that I may have to buy a set of
Recovery disks from somewhere. I do have the Windows Certificate of Authenticity but if I
buy a new set it will probably have it's on certificate with it.
So my XP is stuck asking for something I don't have. What do I do next?

Try the install again but give it the Gateway boot files disc first then the drivers disc for #2?

Thank you for your quick answer. I was hoping you could help me read the label Certificate of Authenticity for me. 

I am in the process of restoring the Microsoft OS on my XP

Media Center Edition 2005.

I can see the Product key and several other numbers. 

I understand that I will have to have the activation Key. Is the product key the activation key?

I have the following other numbers that do not tell me what they are? I would like to know what they are and if I need them in the restoring of the OS.

M93-00115-GW    also a bar code on the same line

00045-808-756-175    also a bar code on the same line

X10-60266-   label not to be sold

Are any of these numbers the license or activation key?

The big question is How do I read the label on the back of my computer?  Thanks for your help.

The key you need is a series of 5 sets of 5 numbers/characters seperated by a dash and labeled Product key.
