I have recently upgraded my system and have no problems with anything until I try to install my nForce systemboard drivers. I tried installing the sysboard drivers before I installed anything else. After I had installed my remaining drivers Windows hangs on the logo screen and the scrolling bar freezes.

I tried installing all my drivers first and then the sysboard drivers and Windows hangs on the logo screen and the scrolling bar freezes. What am I doing wrong and do I need to load the sysboard drivers at all? I have got the latest version from ASUS and Nvidia's website but nothing works.

Hi Rod,

Yes the system board drivers are important and part of these are the chipset drivers that are needed for system stability. I am unsure why they cause the hang especially since you have the latest. Normally just like you did I install the system drivers then all the other drivers for cards, sound, graphics then get a virus scan and finally all the MS updates.

So I suspect its another driver causing the hang so I would get the latest drivers for all other components and try again.

Thats all I can think of at the moment sorry could not be more help.

I have the same board and same system besides a few minor things, and my system did hang on the first boot to windows after installing the drivers (well not really hang) but It took about 20 minutes and i let it sit and came back to find everything loaded nicely. Maybe you are just not being patient with ur new fast system?

Another thought is that its just completely some software BS, with you trying to [bleep] rig an old harddrive into a new system. Make sure the HD is clean with a clean system that is how i always get the best results.

I have tried all of this and it still hangs on Windows Log On. All my drivers are brand new and I still have problems. Should I re-format, re-install(for the 10th time) and load my systemboard drivers up first?

Does DirectX 9c come in SP2?

If it doesnt...you need to intall DirectX 9c before installing nVidias chipset drivers
