I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 64 bit, on an Acer Aspire M3970 Desktop. Intel Core i5 - 2320 @ 3.00GHZ. 4 GB Ram.

It has run like a dream since I got it several years ago. In the past few weeks it has taken to running deathly slow after a period of inactivity - 15 minutes or more - regardless of the number of windows I have open at the time (one to numerous). It takes several minutes to close each window till I can finally reboot (which itself can take 10 minutes or more). It works fine after a reboot until I leave it inactive again and then the problem has returned. I have not installed any new software recently.

I am running Vipre Internet Security which updates every 30 minutes, and scans regularly (latest one last night). I have run Malwarebytes which does not detect any issues. Scannow run at the end of July shows issues in process 74 and 143, but not sufficient (I don't think) to cause the problem. I have uploaded those two.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Before conclude that this problem is not because of Malware issue, I suggest you to create a new topic here. Details given here.

Thanks for your advice. Done last night as you suggested using the same topic headline. No responses yet.

Please be patient as the experts there first conclude their old topics and get into new one, if you don't get response after 3 days then post in the waiting room by posting the link.
