Hi, I'm running windows 7, and I noticed starting yesterday that my computer will randomly wake itself after it enters sleep mode, and also wakes itself if I set it to hibernate.

I've run the powercfg lastwake command in the command prompt, and it comes up with nothing (It indicates that the computer was woken, but it doesn't list a cause.)

In the event viewer, it is telling me that the wake source is "Unknown"

I doubt that malicious software is to suspect, I ran a malwarebytes scan yesterday and it came up with nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check in the CMOS/BIOS Setup and disable things like "Wake on LAN", "Wake on ring", "Wake on 'whatever'", etc.

I've disabled wake on LAN in the bios, the other suggestions were not present in the BIOS menu.

I put my PC into hibernation before I went to class today, and when I returned I was given some sort of start-up error (The DOS-like black screen ones) about how the computer didn't enter hibernation correctly or something like that. I'm not sure if the computer tried to wake itself in that time frame- I can't find any evidence of it in the event viewer, or if something else caused that. my computer, however, is running normally. I will test to see if it will wake itself up when I get the chance and update with my findings.
