Chrome Slowdown

Hey guys and gals, any idea on why IE, Firefox and Opera open and load the homepage a second, but Chrome opens in a second but it takes 6-7 for the homepage to pop up ? It only seems to happen when I have Avast Free installed. When Bitdefender Free was used it was a second for the homepage to open, same with AVG Free, but with Avast Chrome opens fast but it takes a while for the homepage to pop up. I've been told by others this happened to them also, that's why the switched to Opera. Any thoughts on this ? This has happened to me before., so I'm trying Avast again. I may have asked this question before, but it's happening again, any ideas are much appreciated.
