Sounds like the water that you didn't get, (couldn't get to), with the tissue finally made its way all the way down through the keyboard.
The problem with spilling electrically conductive liquids inside electronic equipment is that they allow electrical currents to travel across unintended paths, which can *immediately* short-circuit (kill) all of the electronic components the liquid comes into contact with.
