I have an HP Pavilion 6000 given to me. They had the computer wiped clean. Nothing on it. When I put windows 7 cd in I get " press any keyto boot fromcd or dvd....missing operating system" it is driving me mad. Help please.

Couple of questions if I may;

 

Have you changed the boot sequence in the BIOS so that the DVD drive is the first boot device and the hard drive the second.

 

To access the BIOS to change the boot sequence please try tapping one of the following keys when you restart the computer, F1, F10 or Fll.

 

Is it a proper Microsoft Windows 7 DVD that you are trying to use, a downloaded ISO or a burned copy.
