ok instead of running the analyse on /dev/sdb use the down arrows and select advanced

make sure boot is highlighted and hit enter

post a screenshot of what is shown.

 

then highlight the repair mft option and hit enter.

 

wait while it tries to repair things and post a screenshot of the results when finished.

 

now (unless i've forgotten something.) with luck you should be able to see and access all your files in windows.

ok to be honest i'm out of ideas now.

so if you've recovered all your files i'd just use windows to reformat it again.

 

 

one last thing to try (after you've recovered all your files.) is to run windows chdisk /r but don't think you'll have better luck with that than testdisk, but it's worth a try.

chkdsk still gives the same error message when I ran chkdsk /r on the infected drive. Guess i'll have to reformat it

 

Drive works after the reformat, currently restoring the backed up data to the drive, thanks for the help guys.
