hello all i need some help here , Plz help my Dumb Azz lol , Ok i am running a win 7 home premium 64 bit pc ( will add tech l8r ) when i had a 50 mbit line my pc hit 50 mbit day in and day out for years , now since my cable company offered me a 200 mbit line for 20 bucks more i was like sure , Now i know my ethernet card is a 10/100 , i only expect or want to get 50-100 mbit out of it , Well once they installed the 200 mibt modem in my house my pc been stuck at 20 mbit , I have factory restored my pc and installed all up to date drivers and my pc still stuck at 20-25 mbit , i have tried to edit the registry to remove win 7 bandwith limits and also edited the registry to remove win 7 bandwith throttling , well still didn't do much , so i went out to buy a new ethernet card and no stores in my poop hole area carry hardware lol , so i eneded up buying a giga usb drive , well that got me up to 40 mibt , but it was 50 bucks n i returned it cause i was just testing if it would help , it was usb 2 gig ethernet adaptor , well i know that usb 2 is not capable of more then 50 mibt so why waste 50 bucks on a half azzed soultion lol , i have also tried editing the network settings as far as jumping between 100mbit full duplex to 100 mibt auto dis , well it seems to give me the fastest speed when i set it to 100 mibt full duplex and my flow controll is rx & tx enabled , i have tried disabeling flow controll , and i have tried everything i can think of ,  right now i am hitting 30 mibt dl and 17 mibt upload with the 100 mibit full duplex and rx & tx enabled .

 

oh and my pc is a wired connection

 the modem my cable company gave me is a ARRIS TG1682

 

 now my uncle has a win 10 pc , when he connects to the wireless he gets 50 mibt all day everyday , when i connect him to the wired connection he get 200 mibt , also a friend of mine who has a win 10 laptop gets 200 mibt when wired and 50 mbit when wireless , now i know that 50 mbit via wireless is acceptable to me and everyone else lol , i have tried everything , in 2 months i am buying a win 10 computer but for the next 2 months i don't want to be stuck at 20-30 mbit wired connection when i know i have a 200 mbit line and a 10/100 mbit ethernet card lol ,

 

 i just did a factory restore this morning and updated my win 7 64 bit system and updated all drivers , i am set to 100 mbit full duplex with rx & tx enabled and i am getting 27-31 mbit dl with 18 mbit upload , can anyone think of anything i haven't tried or does someone know what is the problem here , i may try to edit the registry again later to remove bandwith limiting and win 7 home preimum bandwith throtteling , but for now i am waiting because maybee one of you guys can better help me  ;-) , plz don't mind the type'os n miss spelling i am typing fast and 2 frustrated to fix my spelling errors , THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOU TIME AND HELP , Help me plz u tech gods lol

I have the same router. When using a 100mb connection, I only pull about 20-30Mbps. When I use a CAT6 cable, I can get a full 1Gbps connection and max my download to about 160.

 

Does your connection speed indicate 100Mbps or 1Gbps?

 

Can you provide a link to the USB Ethernet adapter you purchased?

The usb ethernet adaptor i was using was a 1000gb and i was able to get 40 mbits but it was in a usb 2 so i think max on a usb 2 is 50 mgbit , I returned the usb ethernet adaptor , i just bought it as a test , The cable company gave me a cat 5e cord , is that means anything , sry it took me so long to respond to you , i did another factory restore on my pc because i edited the  reg and i tried to flash the bios inorder to take win 10 , i said f win 10 for now , i am Disabled so i only get paid once a month , this month when i get paid i am going to order a 100 gig ethernet card , pic , or should i get it pci express , i currently have a 10/100 pci ethernet card , When i get paid i will also buy a cat 6 wire , in 2 months i am going to buy a new win 10 pc , so i just wanted to get this pc to 50-100 mibt untill then Right now this is the ethernet card installed in my pc
