Hello,

Hoping someone can help on this.

I have an Acer Aspire 5742 laptop and the screen keeps going white on it.

Am i facing a new screen or new lead from motherboard to screen.

Please any suggestions is very much appreciated.

Appears to be a weakness in the cable's connector. It tends to get loose. See:

Quick suggestion, If not checked already, try connecting the notebook to an external screen via the HDMI or VGA port, if the problem is not present on that screen it reinforces what RKinner suspects is the cause.
