I have a very particular dilemma, and I don't know if a solution even exists!

 

Here is my goal - to project my ipad screen as I draw live, but I need to crop a portion of the screen so the tools in the application aren't visible. (the app is Adobe Draw - I know you can work in fullscreen, but I need to switch between tools frequently, which requires you not be in fullscreen)

 

The closest I have gotten to achieving this is connecting the Ipad to my laptop, launching Quicktime, doing a new Movie recording, which allows the Ipad screen to be shown on the laptop, and THEN doing a screen capture of the movie recording in Quicktime, and selecting just the area I want to record (cropping out the tools). However, the screen capture feature is not a live feature - meaning I can only view the cropped result after I'm done recording. I was thinking maybe something around Skype or Google hangout screensharing would work, but they don't allow me to crop/make a selection within a specific window.

 

To achieve this result currently, I work in photoshop on a (22" cintiq) drawing tablet on with my laptop, go to Window/New Window for [File Name], and then share that window, which mirrors what I'm drawing without showing any tools. Using the ipad pro to do this would be WAY more convenient, since it's smaller, and doesn't lag since it's vector-based (I've tried the desktop version of illustrator, but I don't like drawing in it).
