I am interested in the iPad 2 mini, and particularly the Wi-Fi only option and wondered

if, when downloading Skype, I can use this iPad like a phone basically, calling people via Skype?

 

Would that work?

 

Tried to contact Apple via chat, but you need to have a product so you can enter a serial number

to start the chat                      Not very clever!
