Problem installing updates. Win 7 pro 64, last update 9/15. tried latest update on 10/31, went 6 hrs. then 5 hrs. no success.

Went to windows update diagnostic, ran it overnight nothing happened.

Went to system restore for closest to successful update downloads, could only go back one week.

1-Got message- the disk win7_os(CJ has errors, click check disk for errors

2-Get message-check disk win 7, I check both fix and recover then click start

3-Get message- can’t check the disk while in use, do you want to check disk on start up

I go to select schedule disk check, nothing highlites and reverts to message 1

I do this about 2 times and then reboot but nothing gets fixed.

I have run out of ideas, any solutions will be appreciated.

Thanks, Vincent Burgio

Open the Command Prompt by clicking Start Menu --> All Programs --> Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt, and open it as an administrator. Type following commands at time and press Enter key for each command.

Sfc /Scannow

Please give us the Sfc command finish executing output.

Type following command and press Enter key.

Chkdsk C:  /R

This command will ask you to schedule a C: partition error checking type Y and press Enter key to accept next reboot time error checking.

If above commands resolve installing updates for Windows please execute my batch script to repair Windows Update components.

Repair Windows Update Errors

If my batch script wont resolve the issue run Windows Update Troubleshooter.
