logitech g430 gaming headset
asus xonar dgx soundcard
problem: mic not working
yeah so my pc doesn't recognize the headset. it doesn't show up in system configurations. it does play sounds correctly. normal speakers work as well.
neither does my other headset which worked on my old pc. the onboard soundcard seems to be turned off since when i plug the headset in neither mic nor headsetspeaker work.
under >sound>recording tab it shows the xonar dgs audio device titled as microphone. no headset is shown in any option in the sound & hardware menu or device manager. there is no company menu like realtek audio settings.
the volume of the mic is set to the highest value physically in the system manager as well as the main volume. it is not muted physically or virtually. the mic itself is down. i know the headset has an automute function if you push it up.
what i tried so far:
checking whether the mic is plugged in properly and in the right jack. it is. installing drivers from the xonar driver cd and letting windows look for drivers. it says the drivers for the soundcard are up to date. configuring the asus "microphone". windows 10 problemsolving will show up solving nothing. went to the logitech support site which seems to do nothing but to install overwolf. the headset came with no disk.
any help is appreciated.
