We have a guest staying at our home. Her lap top is full spyware. I've tried everything to get rid of it but it keeps coming back. The Aurora pop up are the most obvious but there are other things like "auto.search.msn.com" entries in her IE address bar that are looking for very personal information.

I ran everything in the instruction prior to posting this and the stuff came right back. Here are the logs:

Please move HJT into its own folder so backups can be made in case of a mistake.
Suggest:

Take a look in your control panels add/remove programs and uninstall these if listed:
Cas
Toolbar

Download and unzip the KillBox to a folder - we'll use it later.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.
(looks like you have already done this but please make sure you update it)

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes if listed:

gaxmsof.exe
casclient.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running.

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Now open up the KillBox and copy and paste each one of these in and hit delete, if the file exists, it will appear in blue under the window, if not please move on to the next file.

The KillBox creates a folder called "!submit" in C:\ , after you are done you can delete the folder.


Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan..

Reboot into normal mode and delete these folders if found.

The KillBox creates a folder called "!submit" in C:\ , after you are done you can delete the folder.


Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan..

Reboot into normal mode and delete these folders if found.

Download and unzip the KillBox to a folder - we'll use it later.
(you should already have this)


Please download a fresh Nailfix from here:

Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Reboot into safe mode.

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes if listed:

rmkhhu.exe
pbyrhf.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Now please double-click on nailfix.cmd that you unzipped earlier. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.


Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Next, run Ewido Scan again.

When the scan is done.........

Open up the KillBox.
Select the Delete on Reboot option.
In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete copy and paste each one of these in one at a time.
Hit the delete button
OK
Do the next file
After that LAST file path has been entered and you press OK
Reboot the computer
If you recieve an error message and your computer doesn't restart, please restart it manually.

OK, open up the KillBox and choose "delete on reboot"

In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete copy and paste each one of these in one at a time.
Hit the delete button
OK
Do the next file
After that LAST file path has been entered and you press OK
Reboot the computer
If you recieve an error message and your computer doesn't restart, please restart it manually.

This is the log from my main home PC. My daughter also has one in her room, I'll have you take a look at that one after this one.

I enabled everything in the msconfig start up tab. MS AntiSpyware stopped one spyware program from installing when I rebooted after enabling everything.

I usually only have basic stuff (firewall, antivirus, etc.) running in the system tray but everything is running now for this scan.

Download and unzip the KillBox to a folder - we'll use it later.


Please go to your control panels add/remove programs and uninstall SA - Spytech SpyAgent, it's not a recommended program to be on your computer - link below explains:

If listed also uninstall ISTsvc

Please download and run FxIstbar.exe from the link below:

Reboot

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes if listed:

msxct.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {58A83E4F-477A-4A3F-BF9B-B65BC2BD5598} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System32wXK] C:\Program Files\SA\Spytech SpyAgent\sysdiag.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System32] C:\Program Files\SA\Spytech SpyAgent\sysdiag.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System Restore] svcnet.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msxct] msxct.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IST Service] C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [8Gqq] C:\WINDOWS\oqilqar.exe

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Now open up the KillBox and copy and paste each one of these in and hit delete, if the file exists, it will appear in blue under the window.

Delete this file - you'll have to search for it:

svcnet.exe

Delete these folders if found:

C:\Program Files\SA
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Open up Internet Explorer , Tools, General Tab, reset your home page to what you want, now the Programs Tab, click Reset Web Settings
That will change everything back to the default settings.

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log, MrC
