ASUS doesn't find network computer on Nimbus

I have an Epson 1400 printer connected and turned on to my Win7 PC (Nimbus). But the ASUS doesn't see or find it. Especially annoying because, the internal battery on the ASUS stopped working after less than a year and a half, and I have to take in for servicing. So every time it is disconnected, it shuts off and must be rebooted. Printer is set up connected to the Nimbus in another room set up for audio and video only and lacks the software for the needed documents.
