After hooking up a large external harddisk, my computer began to use it as a backup without me asking. It's still doing that, slowing down the regular use I have for it.
The backup appears ina a folder called Nero Autobackup. The weird thing is that
- Although I had Nero installed up to half a year ago, I uninstalled it since then
- There is no service or process running (as visible from the Task Manager with all user processes showing) that remotely sounds like backup or Nero
This suggests it's some sort of virus, although a scan does not show up anything either.
Any thoughts about what's happening (or how I can find out) would be quite welcome!
