Right click inside the folder where the document is saved, select Properties and then Previous Versions. If there is a previous version, see if you can restore it. Also you  could try to... Go to the full post »

I have upgraded my old Laptop to Windows 8. But after upgrading i cannot open one very important .docx file with the help of Word 2007.
Getting a message saying 'Unknown error'.
 
Does anybody can help how to fix it ?

In Word, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Open. In the Open dialog box, click to select the file that you want to open. Click the down arrow on the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.
