I am desperately trying to figure out how to recover deleted text messages from my son's IPHONE 6s. I have done 4 different downloads that state you can recover deleted text messages. I'm able to see the messages but the one I am looking for will not pull up. It's just from last week. I really need this as it's for court purposes. He deleted it on accident. Isn't there someway to get it?? I'm not super electronically savvy but will take any advice.

Hi Grunzen123,

There wouldn't happen to be any iTunes or iCloud backups would there? See if the following helps in any way. Found here:

Run the application and select “Messages”and “Message Attachments” on the first interface. Then click on Next.
Connect your iPhone to PC and start to recover data from iPhone or iTunes backup. ...

You said that you could not get the text you want to pull up. Could be it may have been written over already though I am not quite sure how storage/memory works on iPhones. He didn't happen to send a copy/image of the text message to anyone did he? For court purposes, I had my daughter forward all texts to me and I created images of them for safe keeping and saved them to my PC.

Please stand by, other more informed members "might" have some valuable input as well.

If they are that important, I would take the iPhone to your local reputable tech shop and ask them to recover the texts for you. It won't be cheap but if that deleted text will make or break your case then the cost is not important.

Nope those data-recovery apps/software are useless. The only way around is if you've turned on automatic iCloud backup. Check for it. Else the data is gone for forever.

You can use iPhone Data Recovery software to directly scan and recover data from iPhone. The program supports you preview backup files before restoring them. Besides recover from iPhone directly, you can recover lost data from your iTunes backup and iCloud backup file.

Do you mean iMessages?

I don't think it's possible to recover.

For the users who do not make a backup with iCound and iTunes beforehand, they can only get back the messages with the help of some professional third-party software. Here Mobikin Doctor for iOS can be a good choice for you. This is an easy-to-use iPhone data recovery program, working for iPhone users to retrieve not only deleted or lost text messages, but also photos, contacts, call logs, calendars, videos, notes and so forth in a very easy and reliable way.

Hi there,

I have been in the same situation just like you. But luckily, I like backing thing up, and I find my deleted text messages in the iTunes backup. So have you ever backed up your iPhone to iTunes, or iCloud? If you do, you may need to check the backup files.

If you have not backed up your iPhone, you can try to contact your cellular provider to ask if they can find your deleted messages. However, this could be complicated, since many carriers do not provide this service. But it is worth trying.

The last way you can try is using some third data recovery software. I have noticed that you have done 4 different downloads that state they can recover deleted text messages. To be honest, there is a bunch of such software in the Google search result, but most of them are rubbish. You need to pay more attention to them.

For the more detailed and complete guide on how to get back deleted text messages on an iPhone, I sincerely recommend you referring to this post.

If unfortunately the messages are deleted then you can easily recover these with the help of back up your iPhone via icloud or iTunes.

While choosing the icloud option for back up you have to first reset your iPhone then click on restore from icloud back up.

or you just also try for iTunes option for back up simply you have to connect your computer through USB cable then launch iTunes and further click on back up restore it will have your texts back. in case it doesn't work you take help from third party solution

Back up can help if there were iMessages, otherwise it's not possible.

I did the same thing a weeks ago. This is the solution I found:

If you have back up your text messages, you can restore from the backup.Look at this tutorial from Apple:

If you have no backup for your data on iPhone, iPhone data recovery software is your last shot! I used MobiKin and it worked well.
