Unable to connect to my Email list. I'm on XP, Sp3, IE8, dialup. For some reason my Email homepage list stopped coming up on the screen. It won't come up on any other ways tried either. Please help me on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks alot in advance. HJ

Email account is Outlook.Live.

Web Browser is IE8.

pp2, Sorry for the delay, I've been out of town.

Yes, I definitely still need assistance, wish I could say the problem was resolved but it's not.

Couple of things for you to do, having a slow internet connection the below could take you some time to do so no rush do it when you are able to.

 

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark the following boxes:

Flush DNS

Reset FF proxy Settings

Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)

Attach the results to your next reply for us please.

 

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here,  this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

Hello H. Jay,

 

No personal data is contained in either the MTB log or Speccy url.

 

Note the following from the Speccy link;

 

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.
 
Note: Each time you start Speccy, it will generate a new randomized URL. This is useful if you want to track your computer's information over time.
 
The above is the reason why I ask for the Speccy url and not the log that it can also generate, the log contains product keys for the likes of Windows which quite rightly should not be post on open forums.

Couple of issues going on and most likely because of software conflicts, you have the following installed;

 

 

Avast Free Antivirus (HKLM\...\Avast Antivirus) (Version: 17.8.2318 - AVAST Software)

ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall (HKLM\...\ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall) (Version: 14.3.119.000 - Check Point)

 

You should never have more than one AV installed on your computer, it not only causes conflicts that can slow your computer down and cause you internet connection problems but also leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out.

 

When did you install Malwarebytes.

 

Which free AV do you prefer, Avast or Zone Alarm.

You only need one of the above and being that SpywareBlaster has not been updated since 2016 and that SUPERAntiSpyware is recommended by the GTG security experts you should get rid of SpywareBlaster.

 

 

In addition to the above, you should use a browser that still receives updates for XP, Lunascape is one that I have suggested before and seems to be popular with folk that have begun using it, info on some others here
