Hello,

 

I have a Dell inspiron 17 with Win 8.1 and I want to restore the system at it's original state.

I read at dell instructions to press F8 at boot, but it does not work.

Holding or not Fn, F8 does not work.

The only one that works is F2. It is for hardware check,  not BIOS setup...

 

HOw can I restore my machine to it's original state?

Do you know if the original OS installed by Dell was Windows 8 or 8.1?

 

Can you post the machine Service Tag?

I really don't know originaly windows version...

No problem that's why I ask for the Service Tag because the dell website give us all the information about the machine.

 

The original OS is Windows 8.1 Pro (64Bit) Greek

 

Do you have this program installed Dell Backup and Recovery Basic? if you have run the program and it will give you the option to do a Recovery to Factory Defaults.
