Hi there,

Having a big issue with accessing my localhost:8080/share/page outside my own network.

My application is using Tomcat and on port 8080

Things i have done:-

1. opened all port 8080

2. Did port forwarding with my ISP provider on my router IPv4 and IPv6

3. Have a fixed IP now (was DNCP)

4. Adding for LAN host ip to the DMZ on the router

https://www.yougetsi...ols/open-ports/

my external port is open

but not my LAN on 8080

Any information would help greatly. thanks in advanced

 localhost means the computer you are using. So when you type in "localhost:8080/share/page" it will look on that "local host" computer through port "8080" for "/share/page".

If you were to then go to another computer and type in the same thing "localhost:8080/share/page" it means look on that computer, not over on the other computer. If you want it to look through "port 8080" for "/share/page" back on the other computer, you need to replace that "localhost" with the IPaddress of the other computer.

but it still doesn't work with the proper IP, so i am at a lost.  Could be that it is a SBS2011 server using .local domain, not sure.

To reach it while you're on the same local network would require a local IP address, or internal name if so assigned.

To reach it from outside the local network, (across the internet), will require its public IP address (or Domain name).
