There are a couple things to mention: first I may have damaged something on the motherboard. When removing the CPU fan, the latch was pressing on a large piece on the motherboard with "Gigabyte" written on it but no other identifying features. It's between the video cards and the CPU. Also, it was very difficult to release the latch of the fan. I'm worried I may have damaged the motherboard with the amount of pressure I used to pry it off. I wanted to ask a professional before going and buying a new motherboard. If anyone knows of a possible other solution please let me know. Thank you.

According to the MB specs here the FX-8350 is not on the CPU supported list for the Gigabyte ga-890xa-ud3 motherboard, no 8 core CPUs are and most likely because there is no compatible BIOS, the BIOS btw needs to be upgraded before the board will recognise any Phenom II X6 processor.
