I have a gigabyte ga-890xa-ud3 motherboard and the old CPU was a AMD Phenom II x4 955. The best compatible AM3 CPU that I could afford was the AMD FX-8350 so I bought it as well as 16gb of ripjaws RAM all in an attempt to speed up my computer. I also have a Zalman zf1125bth cpu fan. The issue is, when I replaced the CPU and RAM, I turned on my PC and got no display. All of my fans are working as well as device lights and I'm getting no beeping. The monitor is just not displaying anything. I then attempted to put my old CPU and RAM in but was getting the same issue.

There are a couple things to mention: first I may have damaged something on the motherboard. When removing the CPU fan, the latch was pressing on a large piece on the motherboard with "Gigabyte" written on it but no other identifying features. It's between the video cards and the CPU. Also, it was very difficult to release the latch of the fan. I'm worried I may have damaged the motherboard with the amount of pressure I used to pry it off. I wanted to ask a professional before going and buying a new motherboard. If anyone knows of a possible other solution please let me know. Thank you.

:welcome:  tyler0nickel,

According to the MB specs here the FX-8350 is not on the CPU supported list for the Gigabyte ga-890xa-ud3 motherboard, no 8 core CPUs are and most likely because there is no compatible BIOS, the BIOS btw needs to be upgraded before the board will recognise any Phenom II X6 processor.
