I would like to know if a firewall will remove a hacker that has already installed a virus?

This is a very good question. The answer is "No". A firewall can not remove a hacker once access has been allowed. A firewall is a piece of software that is intended to prevent an attack by putting a wall between you and the "outside world" otherwise known as the internet.
