Searching with Google, I found a pdf document that seemed relevant and interesting; and I printed it out. Unfortunately, the URL contained no information on the author or where and when the article appeared.

In general, given only a "bare" URL, how does one go about searching for that kind of auxiliary information?

In particular, the URL of "my" document is

http://old.unipr.it/...ELFISH GENE.pdf

I'd appreciate any directions and suggestions. ..... batpark
