I did. Unfortunately the only explanation on how to restore is by using their own restore button which is only available to VIP (paid) users. They don't have any info on how to restore when using another backup app like SMS Backup/Restore, which is what I used.

Oh, I see. Are you sure Handcent was designed to read XML files?

TBH I have no idea, but I presume it does, since some of the backed up texts made it into Handcent. It has my messages from the last 4 days (the length I've had the phone) plus texts from 2014, but nothing between then and now.

Corrupted backup(s) possibly?

Corrupted backup(s) possibly?
I wouldn't think so? I even tried a fresh back up last night (still have both phones) and it didn't make a difference.
Is there another way to move all my texts from one phone to another, and it'll all be there in Handcent on the new device, since I've got both?

You would probably stand a much better chance by using the same program for doing the backup and restore.
1) Use Handcent to create a new Handcent Backup File on the first phone.
2) Transfer that new Handcent Backup File to the other phone.
3) Use Handcent on the other phone to restore the new Handcent Backup File.

The issue with that, for me, is that I don't have their "super gold package" which is $15, or higher. That lets me backup 1gb of data, and I have about 800mb of texts I need to transfer over.

It's not worth $15? The people that created Handcent do need to eat.

Sorry, I really need a free option. It's a $15 subscription, not a one-time-price.

Subscribe, use it, stop the subscription.
If you refuse, then I guess you will have to find someone smart enough to create a solution for you .... that also does not ever need to eat.

There's no way to back up your texts and restore them for free? There's millions of free apps and workarounds, it seems unbelievable there's no way to accomplish this. I've gotta eat too, ya know. You shouldn't try and make someone feel guilty about spending money when you don't know if they're in the position to do so or not.

You want me to look for you . . . for free? R-i-g-h-t.
Ever hear of Google?

No one is "wanting you to look for them". This is a tech support forum. If you don't know something that can help, that's fine. I've already spent hours trying to Google a solution and turned up nothing that has worked, so here I am seeing if anyone else has ideas or knows of something that will work. I don't know where your hostility is coming from?
