How can I find out which app causes ads shown over the entire display even when the app is not running?

 

And / or how could I display all apps sorted by the installation date?

So there is no method to sort by date without an extra app to be installed.

Hi River Horse.

 

I know this is almost 12 months out of date but it might help someone else who is having trouble with this.

 

I'm using a Samsung Tab 2 and was getting full screen pop ups all the time. I tried all the usual things ie clearing cache, popup blockers etc etc to no avail.

 

Yesterday I got so frustrated with it I decided to try and fix it or factory reset it. I came across a possible fix for some as it seems to have worked for me:

 

Generally a lot of the issues are to do with a downloaded app(s)

 

So if you go into Play Store then hit the menu (3 lines at the top on the left)

- then My apps & games

- then installed.

On the left hand side you will see "On this device (999)" with the apps listed under it (the 999 is the number of apps you have), you will see on the opposite side of the screen to this there is a drop down where you can sort the apps.

If you sort them by LAST USED it will put the last used at the top of the list.

 

I did this almost straight after I had yet another bloody annoying full screen pop up and found the app at the top, which I had installed some months ago but then forgot about, was of no use to me so I Force stopped the app and uninstalled it.

 

Touch wood nothing for the last 24 hours.

 

Sorry it's a bit long winded but I wanted to make this as simple as I could.

No, no, it is good to get to know about that, thank you!

 

Another bigger problem to find such apps is, I noticed the last times such pop ups were shown (without me having installed a new one for a long time), that apps already running for some or a very long time on one's phone suddenly show full screen apps. So there does not seem to be a way to find out which app causes that (by the order of having installed them). But luckily those full screen pop ups disappeared.

You should be able to work out, by the same method above, which one(s) is causing them I would think even on the phone.

 

So of these things might have date triggers so nothing happens for a long time then all of a sudden they start playing up.

 

Good luck with solving this bloody annoying issue.
