I have a Mac 7,1 I want to upgrade my OS X and to do that I need to buy more RAM. Right now I have 1 gb 667 MHz ddr2 SDRAM. Does it matter which RAM I buy? Can I just walk into a Best Buy right now and buy RAM or is it more complicated? Where would I be able to find it? And finally is it easy enough for a novice to install or should I hire someone. I hope this question wasnt covered didnt notice it in the search. Thank you.

Hello Losangelesca34,

I have gathered some information for you..

The iMac Model 7,1 takes-> DDR-667Mhz RAM<-(That's the kind you need) and has a system maximum of 6GB with the installation of one 2GB module and one 4GB module.

See here:

Here's a video on how to do it:

Thanks
