New Comp's Win7 IE cannot access router via Ethernet, Connection Manager fails to detect DSL router hardware...so, can't switch systems...about sums it up actually.

Possibly a security related issue.

 

Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7 unless you are running Enterprise or have a rather expensive extended support contract, this likewise means that IE is no longer supported, Windows 7 does still have support for Edge, see info here
