What is the difference? Is 1 more superior over the other? Looks like they both go into the M.2 slots on the motherboard but 1 has a different male connector.
I am not asking the different between PCIe and SATA. I am asking the difference between M.2 PCIe and M.2 SATA. When I go to Newegg and search for "SSD" I have to choose between the 2 options.
I am looking to upgrade from a standard SATA Samsung 860 EVO SSD to a M.2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus. Would it be considered an "upgrade?" It looks like the M.2 SATA is newer tech over M.2 PCIe based on the release dates of these items?
