The only possible reason I could find is a glitch in the system or a possible  gps issue........ Do you live close to a heavy Spanish speaking area ?

OMG Anything could go wrong that's so populated of an area.... I just can't see any phone setting that might we be able to look at or change. Very odd indeed. How often has this happened ?  If it's happened more that once you could or might want to let the carrier know, T Mobile, Verizon, Cricket whoever it is and see if they would have any input and or ideas to why that is occurring.

FYI

Over 800,000 Latinos live in the Washington metropolitan area.
