Working on a new pc build and could use some advice. Would a 750 watt psu be sufficient enough for this build? The PC wattage calculator says yes but I wanted to run this by you guys before I finish up everything.

A 750W is over the topand even a cheap one will be about $100.

I alway use PCPartsPicker as it's inbuilt wattage is realistic and calculates watts as you add parts.   I put your build together, click link, look at the top right of page, shows estimated watts, 394W; allowing for extra case fansand another HDD, 550W PSu would do nicely.   Included a good quality Gold PSU, 7 years warranty.

Thanks for the reply! I already have a 750W ready to go.

 

The compatibility issues shouldn't be a problem since the case is nice and big and the motherboard has a 2x USB 2.0 in the front.

If the PSU is anything less than a good quality brand Gold efficiency rated unit I wouldn't use it, Bronze and below are only intended for entry level school/office type desktops that do not have the demanding spec that your build has.

 

What Corsair say about their Bronze efficiency rated CX range of PSU;

 

The CX delivers the power needed for medium specification home or office PCs that do not have high numbers of components, while also offering high energy efficiency and low noise.

Yeah I went with a gold rated psu. Its a Roswell capstone.

Bought mine 2 years ago from a seller on Newegg as a spare PSU but I never got the chance to use it (went with a pre built when my old gaming rig died on me).

 

I guess there's a few unsold units still floating around out there. Mine was new in box still had the plastic wrap on it. My guess is it was left over stock.

 

Tested it on one of my toaster builds and it works just fine. That's why I needed to know I was in the right wattage range for this build. It's a nice PSU and I didn't want it to go to waste.

That was a stroke of luck as PSUs in particular have become a bit scarce since the lock down which has led to prices going up when you can get what you want

Got all my parts just waiting for my windows 10 usb to ship here. Would have just went with the downloadable version but my internet isn't that great. You guys can mark this as answered if you want. Thanks for the help.

 

Luckily, my area is getting fiberoptic cable installed and it should be finished by the end of this year.
