On my custom PC I am trying to set my El Gato HD Pro 60 up. I am using an older monitor, an Acer Al2002W. It only has two ports, one is plugged into the graphics card obviously with the other end plugged into the output I get nothing but a blank screen and silence when I try to record. What can I do so I can record? I got my editing software already (Vegas Pro).

Unfortunately you will not be able to use that monitor as it is only capable of receiving analog signals;  the Elgato only produces digital signals, so they are not compatible. 

 

 

I will supply some links for future reference.

Before you begin, with only a monitor connected via HDMI cable. > set your screen resolution to a max of  1080p @ 60fps 

Install the software before the capture card.

 

You need two HDMI cables, the second one should match the one included with Elgato, a pass through cable, bi-directional HDMI cable.  This is a typical HDMI cable that can be connected in either direction.

First cable, connect one end to your graphics card port, > connect the other end to the Elgato  IN port.

Second cable, connect one end to the Elgato OUT port, > connect the other end to your monitor HDMI port.\

Got a recommendation for a good monitor that is reasonably priced that works with an El Gato?

I can look though some reviews for you and happen other members watching can suggest as well; some info would be useful.

In which country will you purchase?

Brand and model of your present GPU?

Max budget?

I am trying to get one for under 200 if possible. I have a Radeon RX 4700 Graphics card and I am in the good old USA.

Monitors seem to come with DP cable now and not HDMI, reverse of from a couple of year ago, so you will still need a HDMI cable.
