Do you want one mouseoff image and one mouseover image for each nav item? Not sure if there is a way to activate a third image as a mouseover activates a single action. Of course, the action can contain a single image which can show all the information you want. It can initiate nice customized text popups. Not sure why you want 3 images when two would contain all you want. Maybe I don't understand what "others with a slightly different look" means. Might could use the mouseover to show the image flip and then trigger a delayed JavaScript that shows third image. Getting all this coded to show these where you want them may be a little trickier and more complex. I would just go with two images which contains all the info you want to present ot maybe a combination of an image and text. Maybe a "slide show" on a mouseover? Maybe two image in a "Split Button Dropdowns" instead of using text links?
I don't like Dreamweaver,
You might want to show your code and/or the online web page you are working on that has the nav menu.
