Sorry, I missed out the word 'uncheck'. I  did uncheck that setting but the options didn't appear.

I understood, but it only shows "Use hardware acceleration when available", and when I check/uncheck it, there is no content process limit written.

Is this an older version of Firefox?  Maybe it's different for Win 7?

I don't see Firefox in your installed programs list.  Are you using a portable version?  That might be why we are seeing differences.

Looking at the FRST log I see you have a lot of extensions installed on Firefox.  I don't know much about most of them.  If you go to Firefox, Settings menu, More Tools, Task Manager if will show you how much memory each uses.  Perhaps one of them is a bit greedy?

Restarted portable Firefox in troubleshoot mode, managed to see and change the content process limit to 1, but can't find 'more tools' or 'task manager'

Mine says that Task Manager has a shortcut:  Shift + ESC

Perhaps that will work?

Okay, found it. Clicked on the 3 lines at top right corner of menu bar > More Tools > Task manager.

*Another shortcut is to paste in the address bar: about:performance

Don't know why it isn't findable by searching in Settings.

I have many tabs at 34mb. How much MB is considered too greedy?

*Addons are 130kb or lower

Compare results at beginning and end of a session.  Do any of them increase?

No. Still waiting for an audio dropout to see if the task manager flags any culprits.

Pages are loading slower, what's the sweet spot for content process limit?

Don't know.  You will have to experiment.
