Hello..I have a quick question if someone is aware of this kind of a problem..I have a laptop and i use a monitor as my second screen..For a year or so when i started it up my 2nd monitor would restart like 10 times and then work fine for the rest of the day..If i closed it and opened it fast in the middle of the day it wouldn't need to restart many times..Now when i start up it stays closed with some tries to restart and then at a random time it just opens and works normally.

What could it be?I never had this kind of issue and because right now i am in a remote place i  don't want to send it to check it up since it will take a long time

This is the monitor LG W2486L

Thank you

Hello Kostaspap458,

Are you saying the monitor is turning on and off?

Try connecting the monitor to another computer and see if the same symptoms appear.

Hello zep516

Yes it's turning on and off for a big amount of time and then just randomly opens and works normally..Connecting to another computer doesn't change anything..It's something with the monitor..Even if it's just on the power without connected to a computer it does the same,..Any idea what could it be?

As an educated guess it could be a power supply issue, this looks like the power supply I have linked below,

Amazon.com: PK Power AC/DC Adapter for LG W2486L-PF W2486L W2486LPF LED LCD Flatron Monitor Power Supply Cord Cable PS Charger Input: 100-240 VAC 50/60Hz Worldwide Voltage Use Mains PSU : Electronics

It also could be internal part within the monitor. Hard to pinpoint exactly where the problem could be.

I would also suggest as Zep516 has stated that it could be the power supply that he linked to or something internal.

Is there a way that you could safely use a meter and monitor the output of the power supply? In other words, the power supply plugged to AC power and not plugged into the monitor. If the power cycles on/off then we know it's the power supply.
