My PC will go to sleep after inactivity normally. The screen goes black and the message states "Entering Power Saver Mode". 10 seconds later it wakes up. It repeats this pattern over and over. I have tried:

Restart

monitor: unplug power and PC connection

set screen saver to 'no'

Set Allow Wake Times to 'disable'

Windows 10 Pro

Try disabling the less than useless and problematic Hibernation;

To disable Hibernation:

1.    The first step is to run the command prompt as administrator. In Windows 10, you can do this by right clicking on the start menu and clicking "Command Prompt (Admin)"
2.    Type in "powercfg.exe /h off" without the quotes and press enter. If you typed it in correctly, the cursor will simply start at a new line asking for new input
3.    Now just exit out of command prompt

I was out this morning so my PC was idle during this time. When I got home, it was turned off. It doesn't usually do that. I turned it on and ran your command.  It stays  up for a couple minutes then the blue Shut Down screen appears, even while I am typing and using the mouse. I did a restart. No help.

I unplugged the PC last night. This morning - no Shut Down, but still looping on Sleep/Wake. New problem:  the PC no longer locks. I had it set to prompt for a PIN at wake up time.

Download then run the Windows All in One Repair tool from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.

I'm seeing a message flash on the screen occasionally: "Your battery is very low." I've had the PC plugged into a UPS. I switched the plug to a regular surge protector. Still getting the message. Does this make any difference in your instructions? If I should still follow your instructions, do I follow the steps for clean boot for "XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1"? I assume this works for Windows 10? I hope the thing will stay awake long enough for me to perform the steps.

How old is the CMOS battery in this computer.

Same instructions for Windows 10.
