I am working on my mother's PC running Windows 10 home with 8 gb ram. My sister gave her an older HP printer that was running wireless on her system.  She wanted me to install the printer on her system.  Since her wireless is weak, I installed a usb connector to the printer and went online to get the driver..Downloaded it and installed just the basic driver. I tried to print a notepad text but her printer was not listed, so I selected "find my printer" and the only selection listed was network printer and did not show her printer.  I did print a test print from the hp software and it showed some result but not the result I usually get. 

I went to device mgr and the printer is shown but am getting errors on driver missing. It does not change when I select install driver

What am I missing?

Thanks for your reply.  I am going back over to her house tomorrow and try some of the suggestions.  I will get back with you after that and let you know..Thanks again
