Looking to upgrade motherboard suggestions and problems

You need to check that the CPU and GPU have not been tweaked by Lenovo so that they require less power.   Specs that I found for the IdeaCentre Gaming 5 17ACN7 say thay it ships with a single... Go to the full post »

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
Motherboard LENOVO-3743
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
Memory 16.000 GB DDR4 3200 MHZ

 

 

Would like to upgrade motherboard would appreciate suggestions. What kind of problems can I expect PSU, cording etc. Have a few ATX cases I can mess with. Have a 6 speaker surround sound system would like to hook up. Play COD and other FPS games. Better CPU cooling options.

You need to check that the CPU and GPU have not been tweaked by Lenovo so that they require less power.
 
Specs that I found for the IdeaCentre Gaming 5 17ACN7 say thay it ships with a single 16GB stick of RAM, adding a matching stick is a must so that you have dual channel,one stick can only work in single channel which only gives you 50% of the performance that the RAM is capable of.
 
A new MB means that you will have to purchase a new Windows product key, the present OEM key is tied to and dies with the Lenovo MB when you upgrade.
