Hi All.  Thanks in advance for your help.  I have a simple and perhaps naive question about how to speed up my computer. When I log on and load up Microsoft Edge, the computer takes an age to even load it and then even longer to respond when I type something.  It will suddenly respond , with a burst of activity, and then begin a period of not responding. Looking to find the cause of this situation I ran Task Manager via (ctrl+alt+del) only to find that the disk is running at 100% which, as you will know, is the percentage of time the disk is processing read or write requests. I assume this is the source of my problem.  Is there anything I can do to reduce that figure? How do i find out what is causing it?  it's interesting to note that if I don't touch the computer for 10 minutes the problem doesn't occur.  It's as idf the computer is running some software at the beginning  which comes to a conclusion after a little while and causes the programme to no longer run.  Any thoughts and ideas welcome.  Thank you for your help.
