The last time I used my Lenovo G70/80 laptop was Sunday and the WIFI worked fine, just as it always has. Yesterday when I tuned the computer on there was no WIFI connection. When I looked at the available networks I saw an Xfinity hotspot as well as several of my neighbors, but my HOME network had disappeared. The pc will connect to the Xfinity hotspot, but obviously I need my secure HOME network to appear so I can connect to it. I have my HOME WIFI on every other device in my home except this laptop.

I tried several online "fixes" found in various places, all to no avail. As a last resort, I thought something had become corrupted because when it shut down Sunday it took a long time to do so. With that, out of desperation yesterday I reset the computer back to factory. After all the ensuing updates, I still have no HOME WIFI showing up. I am stuck and could really use some assistance please.

Edit to add when I click on Manage Known Network I can see my HOME network. The connect automatically within range is ON. It does not appear however in my list of available networks to log onto.

Thanks

Hello...

Sounds like the problem might be with the router. The perceived logic is that if the router/network is visible to one device it must be working for all - this is not always the case. This problem is common with the Ethernet connected devices. Power-cycling the router often resolves issues of this kind.

Another possibility, is your router is using a frequency (e.g. 5GHz) that your LAN card cannot see, however this is unlikely for newer devices.

Have you updated the drivers from Lenovo's website?

I just updated the drivers from Lenovo. Unfortunately that didn't work. I wonder if disconnecting every device from he router, then restarting it would work?

Yes, and thank you! I have been on Lenovo's support site and tried every suggestion to no avail. I'm still seeing my neighbors networks but not my own. Every other device in my home can detect this Wi-Fi network except this laptop!

Is it time to contact Xfinity to see if it's a router problem? Then again, why would my other devices all work correctly?
