I have an older desktop computer with Windows 10, and it does not meet the requirements for updating to 11. With this, I use Windows Defender for my anti-virus.  With Microsoft dropping support in the fall, what do you recommend using for virus protection?  I once used Avast on XP, but did not love it.  It does not have to be a free program, just a good one. Any advice? Thanks

Support for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025 so you have some extra breathing space, after that I would suggest Malwarebytes or moving to a Linux platform OS.
