I have WIN11 OS on my new computer (Dell Inspiron 16-5630).  It came with the free trial version of MS365 pre-installed on the internal HD Drive (C:\).

I also have an external HD Drive  (D:\) that has MS Office 2019-Home Edition installed on it.  This external HD Drive was removed from my old computer which ran the WIN10 OS.  All components of the MS Office 2019 worked fine when the now external HD Drive was the internal, and only HD Drive, on my old computer with the WIN10 OS .

Needless to say, MS Office 2019 no longer works on the new computer.  On attempting to load it I get an error message to the effect of:

You have a newer version of Microsoft 365 and Office installed.

We have detected these newer versions of Microsoft 365 and Office installed on your device.

          Microsoft OneNote - en-us

          Microsoft 365 - en-us

If you want to install an older version of Microsoft 365 and Office, please remove these newer products and try again.

My question(s) is/are:

1- Is it safe to remove MS 365?

2 - Will removal of Microsoft 365 from internal drive C:\ permit me to run the version of Microsoft Office 2019 that is housed on the external HD drive (D:\)?

3 - If the answer to 2, above, is no, what else must be done to get Microsoft Office 2019, housed on external HD Drive (D:\) to load and run?

4 - I would remove MS 365 by following this tree:

     Settings

        Apps

           Microsoft 365 - en-us

               Uninstall

                   ...

                      Restart

Thank you for your assistance!

You can uninstall 365 without any issue as it is only the trial version which imho amounts to nothing more than bloatware.

Not an expert on MS Office by any means but as far as I am aware you can't use the version that was used with Windows 10 but will instead need to log into your MS online account and download it from there, new PC and change of OS means a clean install + MS are pushing 365 sales so have made things more difficult for those of us that are hppy with our older versions of Office.
