Hello everyone, I need help regarding the laptop cable, specifically the upgrade of the display cable from 30 to 40 pin. I have a Laptop MSI GT72VR 6RE Dominator Pro, version with 60hz (overclocked to 75hz) monitor and I want to upgrade to 120hz, I have already found 3 compatible monitors that will fit and have the same mounting system. Unfortunately, like an imbecile, I just bought the 40 pin version of the cable for my laptop for the exact same model, but the cable is wrong, specifically, I have a 40 pin EDP in the laptop in the motherboard and a normal 30 pin to the monitor. But I bought a 40-pin cable to the monitor, which I need, but a 40-pin LVDS signal to the motherboard, which logically cannot work. Even worse, connecting LVDS to the EDP is not possible for most people, and in the worst case they will blow up the motherboard, luckily I noticed it, unfortunately $50 it's gone, but whatever. However, I need advice on what to do, this is my K1N-3040023-H39 cable, I ordered K1N-3040057-H39, upon closer examination, one can see that the end of the cable that goes to the motherboard is completely different, but what if I cut off only the end that goes to the motherboard the 40 pin to the monitor and soldered it to my original cable since the only thing I need is a 40 pin end to the monitor so that I can upgrade, would that be possible?. And if not, which of these 3 models that I found on Ebay could theoretically work? K1N-3040068-H39 then K1N-3040143-H39 and finally K1N-3040120-H39. And please don't write me an addendum to buy an external monitor. If I wanted an external monitor, I'm not asking about how to upgrade the monitor on my laptop logically, and for those who immediately write that it's not possible, it's logical because it's just a cable and a few people did this upgrade and succeeded, so unless they have 30 pin on the motherboard, in which case it is not possible.
