Hi there,

Hi,  I posted a question here back in July and received no replies  and thought I would try again!

I will try to keep my message succinct but sufficiently detailed.

I have a Fetch TV PVR attached to my ‘smart’TV and it connects to my home network with the address 192.168.0.11

My Win 10 PC used to ‘see’ the PVR from File Explorer when it would show up under the heading 'This PC' see attached Image 1

My new Windows 11 laptop can ‘see’ the PBR in exactly the same way'. see attached image 2

A Windows Update in July had the effect of hiding the PVR and I haven’t been able to restore the link.  (I blame the update because by reverting to an earlier date with System Restore I could restore the connection.   This was fine but eventually the restore point disappeared and I was stumped.)

Can someone please tell me how to recreate the link to the Fetch box please?  I have tried Map Network but without success.

Thanks very much,

Roger

Could Network Discovery be turned off?

(These instructions are for Win 10 but it's probably the same)

Right click nd select Settings then:

Network & Internet

At the bottom should be a link to Network and Sharing Center.    Click on it.

While on this page, look for the status of your Internet connection.  Should be Private network.

On the left side find and click on

Change advanced sharing settings

Turn on network Discovery

should be selected.  Once selected the option Turn on Automatic setup of network devices should appear.  Make sure it is also checked..

While on this page I would also turn on File and printer sharing.

Close the window and go back to the page where it said your network was a Private network.  Click on Media Streaming options

Turn on Media Streaming and make sure all devices which appear are checked.

OK.

Did that change anything?
